The Pinacoteca Giovanni e Marella Agnelli was set up in 2002 as a private museum open to the public (with a permanent collection that contains the works belonging to the Agnelli family). Unique on the Italian panorama for the attention it devotes to the phenomenon of art collecting, since 2007 it has hosted exhibitions and events devoted to this theme.
As well as its Library of Collecting, and major survey and cataloguing projects, the Pinacoteca organises series of conferences and encounters with leading figures in the world of art collecting, both Italian and international, involving private collectors and the representatives of foundations, museums and cultural institutions.
The “Collecting Notebooks” series, extremely readable volumes edited by the Pinacoteca and copublished with Johan & Levi, presents these conversations and the stories related by those interviewed.
