Franco Toselli has been exploring the world of contemporary art for fifty years. Beginning in Milan in 1967, his prolific journey has led him to work in exhibition spaces with changeable environments, where leading international artists exhibit one after the other. With them, Toselli creates memorable exhibitions, participating in the adventures of the principal artistic movements, including Conceptual Art, Arte Povera, California environmental art and European Neo-Expressionist painting.
Curated by Germano Celant, this book offers a historical/critical reinterpretation that seeks to position Toselli’s activities within the broader historical context of art galleries around the world. To this end, it features an ample selection of images made available by Italy’s top photographers, many of which are published here for the first time.
